Students at DIS recently had the opportunity to display student work at Twisted Bine in Mount Joy. Check out some of their portrait projects. 

6th Grade Contour Portriats

6th Grade students created continuous contour line self portraits by using mirrors and transfer method to create compelling and dynamic compositions. Students had choice of media and style after learning about portrait artists from art history. 

5th Grade Place in a Face

Students learned about how to be a caring art citizen in art for their first lessons. Ms. McCart read the class chapters from Wonder where students created their own self portraits inspired by the book

Demuth DownTown

4th Graders took a digital walking tour of downtown Marietta, Mount Joy and Maytown to create and photograph local buildings. Students then watercolor painted their findings inspired by artist Charles Demuth
